Nose: Baked apple pie, cinnamon, brown sugar, oak, citrus, salt, spices, light sherry, apples, pears, oranges, pineapple, and faint vanilla.
Palate: Medium bodied. White pepper, cinnamon, apples, pears, citrus, brown sugar, nuts, oak… basically a continuation of the nose.
Finish: Medium. Lingering baking spices, apples, pineapple, oak, and light sherry notes.
Thoughts: A very good Glenlivet with very consistent flavours. It's got the smooth, inoffensive quality that makes the brand so popular, with a nice balance between sherry and spices. No, there’s nothing to light a fire under an anorak’s ass, but that’s fine. A calm, refined, approachable whisky. Here you have quality malt, fruit, and spices doing their thing. A good example of a stylish and easy malt.
