Nose: Vanilla pudding, honey, lemongrass, butter, malt, apples, lemons, pears, lavender, and pastry.
Palate: It gets somewhat heftier and less subdued once sipped. A creamy mouthfeel transitions us into oak, peat, citrus, ginger, milk chocolate, spices, and tobacco.
Finish: Vanilla, apples, pears, honey, fresh oak, spices, and malt. Medium in length.
Thoughts: I like it. It's both delicate and confident. Good balance. I think perhaps the notes could be slightly crisper, but it’s all very approachable and charming. The grain isn’t very noticeable, and there’s just enough subtleties to keep you interested. It is, however, a profile I might tire of if I had it all the time. But from time to time, this is very enjoyable on a visceral level. Great blend.
