Nose: Vanilla pudding, crème brûlée, tangerines, lemons, and light malt. Fresh and alive.
Palate: Creamy, with vanilla, crème brûlée, honey, lemon rind, and faint floral notes.
Finish: Short/Medium, with vanilla, custard, marmalade, malt, milk chocolate, and gentle spices. Delicate.
Thoughts: Classic! Cheap and delicious. It really works as a younger whisky. I like the creamy texture, the light, bright vibrancy, and the overall taste profile. It’s not challenging or complex, really. It’s more refreshing than anything else. This is the cheapest single malt to be found in Taiwan, so I drink it very casually. I’ll even throw in a cube of ice from on the really hot days. Why not? Anyway, an 86 is my “objective” score, but actually in terms of personal enjoyment in relation to budget, I might rate it a point or two higher. A good, fun little whisky.
