Nose: Fresh honey, light sherry, apples, pears, nuts, oak, vanilla, anise, and toffee.
Palate: A nice oak presence, sherry, apples, pears, vanilla, baking spices.
Finish: Vanilla, baking spices, oranges, touches of sherry. Short and kind of 'meh.'
Thoughts: Decent, but there’s some disharmony here. The fruity notes are present but they never fully blossom. This is only lightly sherried, which should give the bourbon and malt notes more of an opportunity to shine, but the results don’t impress. There’s a good profile here, but the whisky can’t seem to find much character for itself, and the finish is a bit lackluster.
